Learn Starting out
Money in, money out and transfers
What you earned, what you spent, and money you only moved between your own accounts.

Where you see it
Money flow on your overview: pay coming in, and bills, spending and savings going out, with transfers left out.
What it means
Money in is your pay, refunds and anything else that lands in your accounts. Money out is what you spend and the bills you pay. A transfer is money moving between two of your own accounts, like checking to savings, so it counts as neither. Leaving transfers out keeps your totals honest.
Why it matters
Knowing what really came in and went out each month is where every other number here starts.
