Learn Getting steady
Savings rate
The share of what comes in that you keep.

Where you see it
The savings part of money flow on your overview: what you kept out of what came in this month.
What it means
Take what came in this month, subtract what went out, and compare what's left with what came in. That share is your savings rate. If $1,000 came in and you kept $100, it's 10 %. Anything above zero means you're moving forward.
Why it matters
Keeping a steady share, even a small one, matters more than saving a big amount once.
